Getting Down the Driveway

Fair warning: the driveway is very steep. It’s paved with ridges that grip your tires, and we’ve personally driven all kinds of cars up and down it. If steep drives make you nervous, a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended. Guests with very large trucks have found the tight turns difficult.

There’s parking for two cars down at the cabin, and two more spaces at the top of the driveway. Prefer to park up top? A stairway of 95 steps leads down to the cabin.

Tip from past guests: plan to be back by sunset your first night while you get used to the drive. We’re not responsible for vehicles getting stuck, so please keep this in mind when booking.

Safety & Property

  • Black bears: we’re in the mountains, so there are occasional sightings. We’ve never had a dangerous encounter — they’re looking for food. Please bag all trash and place it in the bear bin outside, making sure the lid is properly closed.
  • Camera: a Ring doorbell with a camera is on the front door.
  • Smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and first aid kit are on site. A carbon monoxide alarm has not been reported, so you may wish to bring a portable detector.
  • Stairs: guests must be able to climb stairs to reach and move around the cabin.
